Machining 1 – Essentials is a 60-hour accelerated, hands-on course designed to build foundational machine shop skills using conventional (manual) milling machines and lathes. Students learn how to safely operate shop equipment, interpret blueprints, select cutting tools, calculate proper speeds and feeds, and fabricate parts to specification.

This course is ideal for individuals entering the machining field and for current workers seeking to strengthen core manual machining skills. It serves as the prerequisite for CNC Production Basics.
