Advanced Composite Materials - Level 1
COURSE OVERVIEW
Advanced Composite Materials – Level 1 is a 40-hour hands-on training program designed to prepare students for careers in aerospace, aviation, and defense composite manufacturing and repair. This course teaches the science and practical application of fiber-reinforced polymer systems used in launch vehicles, aircraft structures, spacecraft components, and high-performance defense hardware.
Students learn core fabrication techniques including wet layup, prepreg handling, vacuum bagging, curing, inspection, and basic structural repair. The program blends focused classroom instruction with intensive lab work using industry-standard materials and tooling.
The course concludes with the opportunity to sit for the CertTEC Basic Composites Certification on Day 6.
